4.7 Performance Meetings*

Performance meetings will take the following form.

Whenever formal performance action is under consideration you will be informed in writing of the performance shortfalls. You will be informed that a meeting is to take place under the Performance Support Procedure and that a possible outcome of the meeting after due consideration of all the facts and circumstances is a Performance Support Warning may be issued with a Performance Support Form. The member of staff will be informed of their right to have a trade union representative or a colleague present at formal performance meetings. At least five working days’ notice will be given of a Performance Support Meeting.

At the meeting you will be informed of areas of performance concerns and be given an opportunity to discuss these and highlight any support or additional training that can be offered to reach expected standards of performance. You or your representative will be given the opportunity to ask questions and raise any concerns. Once you and your representative have discussed all relevant matters, a Performance Support Form will be completed and a Performance Support Warning will be issued following the meeting.

You will also be advised of the procedure for appealing the Performance Support Warning and what the next stages of the process are in the absence of any required improvements being made which will also be confirmed in writing.
