Within the Weekly News, we include a "Love to Learn" section, where we recommend a variety of free learning materials from courses and podcasts, to workshops and articles.
This week's Love to Learn recommendation is: Action for Happiness
Did you know that not only do Action for Happiness create heart-warming calendars and run programmes, but they also have a library filled with resources, past talks and podcasts?
Action for Happiness’ is a registered charity and their vision is to help create a happier world where everyone can thrive. From talks on “Deeper Connections” and “Rest & Restore”, to Local Group meetings and support- there’s lots to explore. They also have an app that includes meditations, short videos, monthly tips and community posts.
Charity Mentoring Network
The Charity Mentoring Network is a community platform that connects organisations, staff and volunteers together to support one another and share their knowledge and expertise. As of Friday 27 October, all LUU staff can sign up to be a mentor, mentee or both on the Charity Mentoring Network through their website, or on their app “PushFar - The Mentor Network”. Mentor/mentee matching will begin on Monday 22 January.

Random Meetups
What are they? An opportunity for you to get to know colleagues in LUU who you might not normally interact with and understand more about what they do.
How much time do they take? 30 minutes each month, that’s it.
Are they any good? Yes! But don’t take my word for it, here is what staff have said ‘I'd encourage anyone to do it, it's been valuable and also good fun' ‘This has been really helpful' ‘There is no pressure and every meet up has been different - different locations, different topics of conversation. It's brill!'
Employee Assistance Programme
Through our Employee Assistance Program, LUU staff have access to a great range of webinars, on topics such as Social media & mental health, Emotional Intelligence, The Menopause, Children's Mental Health & lots more!

Acas
Acas are an Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service that offer a variety of free elearning courses on HR and manager topics such as EDI, Change Management and Mental Health Awareness. To access these courses, click here to create an account.

A go-to free platform to watch influential videos from expert speakers on education, business, science, tech and creativity, with subtitles in 100+ languages. Choose from thousands of videos on hundreds of topics.
Open University
The Open University has lots of different free courses for you to try, including; History & the Arts, Money & Business, and Society, Politics & Law.
